HARRISBURG – The Lancaster GOP House Delegation joined the majority of their colleagues today in voting in favor of a budget that will fully fund our schools and maintain government services for residents in accordance with the severe economic constraints facing our Commonwealth – mainly the current administration’s track record of spending more money than the Commonwealth receives in revenue.
HARRISBURG – Minutes before the start of Tuesday’s Capitol press conference convened by Reps. Dave Zimmerman (R-Lancaster), Dan Moul (R-Adams), Clint Owlett (R- Bradford/Potter/Tioga) and John Hershey (R-Franklin/Juniata/Mifflin) about the status of the 2021 Keystone International Livestock Exposition (KILE), the Wolf administration emailed the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee indicating that it would move to open the Farm Show Complex.
WHAT: Due to the millions of dollars of personal protective equipment (PPE) currently being stored at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, the 65th Keystone International Livestock Exhibition (KILE) Show, which is scheduled for Oct.1-10, may not take place. Exhibition organizers have yet to receive a definitive answer from the Department of Agriculture or the Wolf administration. A decision on whether to hold the 2021 show could come as early as this week, but as of today the Farm Show building is still full of PPE. This lack of planning and decision making on the part of the administration is putting KILE and many other events in jeopardy.
WHAT: Garden Spot Village executives and residents will present and explain their ongoing difficulty getting COVID-19 vaccine for their high-risk residents that the state previously approved.
HARRISBURG – Rep. Dave Zimmerman (R-Lancaster) wants constituents to be aware that the House State Government Committee will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, Jan. 28, at 1:30 p.m. to examine the SURE System, election management systems and related information technology.
HARRISBURG – A group of state lawmakers performing extensive analysis of election data today revealed troubling discrepancies between the numbers of total votes counted and total number of voters who voted in the 2020 General Election, and as a result are questioning how the results of the presidential election could possibly have been certified by Secretary of the Commonwealth Kathy Boockvar and Governor Tom Wolf. These findings are in addition to prior concerns regarding actions by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Secretary, and others impacting the conduct of the election.
HARRISBURG – Rep. Dave Zimmerman (R-Lancaster) said he is pleased 69 of his House colleagues joined in filing an amicus brief in the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of Texas v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State of Georgia, State of Michigan and State of Wisconsin.
HARRISBURG – Rep. Dave Zimmerman (R-East Earl) announced that New Holland and Akron boroughs have been awarded $200,000 and $214,653 respectively in Small Water and Sewer Program grants. The grants will be used to upgrade clean water supply infrastructure resulting in better water quality and increased water supply to residents.

Tom Wolf at yesterday’s press conference that he plans to veto House Bill 2463. The bill would ensure Right-to-Know (RTK) requests are answered during state of emergency declarations and it was passed unanimously by the General Assembly.

HARRISBURG – As Pennsylvania’s unemployment statistics continue to rise, and the COVID-19 ‘curve’ is flattened, the House of Representatives sent a plan to allow counties to develop and implement their own COVID-19 mitigation plans for businesses to the Governor’s desk.
HARRISBURG – The Lancaster Republican Delegation to the House of Representatives today listened to Gov. Tom Wolf’s budget proposal before a joint session of the General Assembly where the governor ask for $2 billion in new spending over the current budget and $5 billion in new taxpayer debt.
HARRISBURG – Today, the Lancaster County House Republican Delegation voted to pass a 2019-20 spending plan for the Commonwealth built upon a foundation of five principles to serve Pennsylvania taxpayers – saving for the future; fiscal management; thrift; investing in our future by boosting education; and instilling policies to foster economic growth. This plan also addresses Lancaster County priorities such as agriculture and Thaddeus Stevens College.
HARRISBURG – Today, the Lancaster County House Republican Delegation was present for a joint session of the General Assembly as Gov. Tom Wolf delivered his budget address for 2019-20. The $34.15 billion spending plan is an increase of $927 million over the current enacted budget.

HARRISBURG – The Lancaster County House Republican Delegation announced a $2 million grant to benefit cancer patients by expanding Lancaster General Hospital’s Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute.
